Pat and his wife, Celene, have been the Senior Pastors of Word of Life Fellowship in Mi Wuk Village, California, since 2003. Having trained in the WLF Ministers Training program for many years and having served as Youth Pastors, they were ordained as Associate Pastors in 1984. For the next 19 years until their founding pastor, Lorraine Thomshaw, Celene’s mother, transitioned to her heavenly home, they ministered in different capacities in the church, giving them a unique understanding of how God is building His church, and that relationship with God and one another is the key to His heart.
Born on March 7, 1952, and raised in San Carlos, CA, Pat is clearly a Northern California boy. Regardless of California’s current political climate, Pat is thoroughly convinced that God has a powerful plan for California’s role in establishing the Kingdom of God on this earth, and is committed to doing his part to see that come to pass.
Pat also has the unique perspective of being a successful business owner, allowing him to relate to ministry in the church as well as in the world that we’ve been called to change. He knows how to serve in the arena of business and the community, always putting His Father’s will first. His experience gives him the significant advantage of understanding the importance of godly character and ethics to show Christ to the world. Pat retired from his manufacturing business in 2004 to go into full-time ministry in the church, but he has kept his passion for teaching biblical business principles and integrity to Christian business owners.
Patrick McDonald is a man with a strong prophetic teaching anointing that enables him to clearly and accurately communicate deep revelations of the Kingdom of God and the role of the church in these last days. Celene’s greatest desire is to see men and women grow into all that God has destined for them, embracing the uniqueness of their gifts and God-given abilities. She counts it a privilege to carry her mother’s passion to see the Gospel of the Kingdom not only preached but lived out in this generation.
In October of 2023, they “passed the baton” of lead pastors of Word of Life to the next generation and have been launched into a greater apostolic role to the Church of Jesus Christ at large. Together, they give their lives to build and shepherd the local church, moving in the gifts of the Spirit by operating with a five-fold ministry leadership team. They father and mother the next generation, steward the moving of the Holy Spirit and steward the current prophetic-apostolic reformation sweeping the earth.
Word of Life Fellowship is a church with a passion to honor and worship the Lord Jesus Christ, to host His presence so He can speak, touch, deliver, and heal His people. Word of Life has had the honor to support, encourage, and send ministries to four continents and has planted three churches, so far. They believe that Jesus is coming back for a victorious bride – His Church, and they want to do everything to equip her to be ready for His return!
